I have a backyard!
We received a check in the mail from my old insurance returning our deductible from the "oh so convenient" car accident I was in two years ago.
Merry Christmas to us- we decided to gift ourselves some pavers!
Luckily I have an amazing father and brother who have done such "do it yourself" projects before, and even better? They volunteered to help.
Little did I know how much I was signing MYSELF up for...
The day before my family came we had the gravel/pavers delivered. The interesting fella from Pioneer Landscaping dropped it off on my driveway and wished me luck. I figured, since Lincoln was napping and Ken wouldn't be home until after the sun would set, I could do most of it myself.
I got this far and started rethinking the whole thing... This sounds so stupid, but I never thought my forearms would bet tired. It's like I'd been rock climbing for hours.
After restarting my duties during Lincoln's second nap, my sisters beau stopped by and refused to let me do any more work. So he ended up taking a huge dent out of the never-ending pile. Thank you Kevin.
Saturday morning everyone else joined in on the fun and we got it finished in about 4 hrs.
SO not as easy as it looks.
Thank you Dad for offering what little free time you have. Thank you Mom and Meri for watching Lincoln and of course thank you for manual labor Ian, Jeff and Kevin!
