Family of Four

During this pregnancy I did not keep a consistent record of my growing belly. The last photo I got of  it was at 35 weeks when I went out to dinner with a bunch of girlfriends.

I had Lincoln two weeks early so my doctor was concerned this baby would do the same. There was a small hang up with Ken's paternity leave (if the baby came before his year mark) and my doctor would be out of town until August. So, to get me as close to the due date as possible, she put me on bedrest at 37 weeks. So on July 22nd, I officially put my feet up and said my prayers that I would make it to August 4th. Luckily I had friends and family that were able to help me out since I couldn't lift Lincoln and couldn't stand for long periods of time.
During this time Lincoln became Ken's best friend! Which was perfect, since the new baby was right around the corner.

I was able to spend a week at my moms house, which was Lincoln's dream come true! My mom and brother ended up putting together a huge makeshift table for all of his train tracks. He was in heaven and didn't play with anything else the whole time.

Friday morning (4 days too soon) at 7 am I started having intense contractions. I admitted myself to the hospital at 9am but was sent home two hours later since I wasn't far enough along. They couldn't do much for me since I was only 38 weeks. I spent two hours at home trying to get "baby" out of my back since the pain was so much more intense than the labor I experienced with Lincoln. I had heard back labor was terrible... and now I know that IT IS! When my contractions were finally 2 minutes apart (as the nurses had instructed) we readmitted me into the hospital. Luckily I was finally to the point where they could give me an epidural.

At 6 pm my water broke!

And Big Baby Beck was born 43 minutes later!

My parents were just visiting, but Beck came so quickly that they were able to see him before taking Lincoln home for the night.

Lincoln wasn't totally interested, but atleast acknowledged the fact that Beck was in my arms.

Even though newborns come along with sleepless nights and constant eating, there is nothing like baby snuggles.

The next night they discharged me, so we loaded up our new addition and headed home.

Of course, Beck only ended up sleeping for an hour that night... Staying one more night in the hospital might have been a better idea.

Lincoln happily became a loving big brother. He tends to be a little rough with his affection, but really means well.

Wearing Beck's hospital beanie makes Lincoln look like Mr. Smee from Peter Pan.

We haven't come to any conclusion as to why Beck only likes to open his left eye. Only time will tell, but for now its pretty hilarious... and he looks so cute.

I would like to officially thank sweet Shay Nansel for taking these amazing photos of Beck. It wasn't easy to get him to look peaceful, but we got some!

Funny enough Lincoln was a little more complicated than Beck when it came to being photographed.

We had to bribe him with candy, which ended up working against us.

And after trying to push Beck away multiple times, we finally got a little love from him.
