Our first anniversary was May 15, which happened to be a Sunday this year. Luckily, Maddie was able to take the day off from work so we got to go to church together and play with the nursery kids then came home and had an indoor picnic. We made tasty sandwiches and had my favorite junk food, salt and vinegar chips. We ended up making cards for each other because come the night before, we realized we hadn't gotten each other an anniversary card yet. I tried to sneak out and get one, but Maddie insisted on coming with me to the store so when I confessed why I was going, she told me she hadn't gotten me one yet either. As we shopped for a card for each other together, we realized how lame that was so we decided instead to just make a card. So that is what we did at our "picnic". It actually turned out to be a lot of fun. Afterwards, we went out with our good friends the Hales and did a little house hunting. It was a pretty busy day but a good example of how our first year together as newly weds went. Always full of adventure and excitement and of course surrounded by people we love.
